Is there a chance I could be pregnant ?
I am wondering if I could be pregnant, my cycle ended two days ago and I am on lo estrin fe 10 10. Last month I was prescribed a z pak and then ceFdinir a few days later for an ear infection. During this time me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex quite a few times we have been together for over a year which is about how long I've been on the pill. I took my second blue pill today and still have very light bleeding which I never have usually: I also had a really bad headache and some dizziness/faintness the past few days. And I noticed I've been eating more. I broke out in hives as well which my pharmacist said is a reaction to the cefdinir. I am just worried because If there is a chance I'm pregnant I will take a test before I would stop the pill(I obviously don't want to take the pill if I'm pregnant for the sake of the child) thank you for the feed back ! I might just be worrying too much

No birth control method is 100% effective, so you could certainly be pregnant. Additionally, there is a small (though unlikely) chance that the z-pack you took may have affected the rate of hormone metabolization of your pill, making it less effective. You should always use a backup method when you are taking antibiotics. If you have just had a period, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. However, if you miss your next expected period, you should take a home pregnancy test suing first morning urine. In the meantime, if you continue to have concerns and need some peace of mind, you should contact your doctor.

The medication may have an effect on the birth control, but even so, birth control pills are not 100 percent. You have not really described any pregnancy signs, short of possible light period, remember you may not get a good test result, till 14 days after period due, but could do blood test at doctor sooner. You may have to even wait till next month and see if you miss that period.
