I have a basement bathroom sink that was not working properly, so I shut off the water supply under the sink. Is it OK to keep these knobs on the off/closed position for a few months until I can afford a new sink?

Thanks for the quick reply. So when you say No problem, you are stating that its OK to leave the valve on "Off" ?

Yeah I thought I would double check. Unfortuantely, I cant afford the sink right now, but wanted to keep the water on in the bathroom for the shower and toilet. So I figured shutting off the sink would be OK and safe. I hope to have enough saved by September to complete the job. Until then we just don't have a sink in that bathroom. Which is fine because its our second bathroom.

Do you care to share what is wrong with the lavatory faucet? These are usually fairly easy to repair if you are the least bit handy and cost about $15. Even though you plan on replacing it would be worth that much to avoid the inconvenience of not having a lavatory tor two months.

We aren't going to keep the bathroom probably. So come September we will probably make it into an office. So for now I was hoping to leave the sink off and still let my roomates use the shower and toilet until they move in September.
