    Child support
My husband has 2 cases, one in Texas, and one in Wisconsin. Everyone lives in Wisconsin. He pays Wisconsin but now Texas wants him to pay them, even though the kids don't live there, and they're over 20 yrs of age. He is almost done with every payment for Wisconsin, now Texas wants him to pay them. Why?

You would have to provide a great deal more information to get the best answer. Are the Texas and Wisconsin cases for separate children, or are they for the same child. Was he current on the Texas order, or was he in arrears? Was the Texas order ever transferred to Wisconsin? The best place for your husband to start is with the division of child support enforcement in Texas to get this information if he doesn't know it already. If there were arrears on an existing order, he will continue to owe them until the balance is satisfied, regardless of the age of the child.

As noted, there is not enough info for us to answer. My suspicion is that, at some time the case was in TX and arrears were accrued there that need to be paid. But we need answers to the question kc asked to be able to help further.

Or perhaps, they lived in Texas at some point and the child collected state beneifts. If so, the state wants paid back.

The actual child support should only be to and though the court, that has the support order.
