Can I pinch and tape off a PVC water pipe that is going to my fridge?
I need to stop water from coming through a PVC pipe a fridge.

Do I need a valve or can I pinch the pipe and tape it sealed?

You can certainly pinch it and tape it for a short period of time, as an emergency fix. However, I highly recommend you purchase a cap, or valve, and put it on the end of the pipe. That way you can be assured it won't start leaking, flooding your kitchen.

Remember even though this a small tubing (I assume it is small plastic or PVC tubing) it is under the same pressure as the rest of your water system.

I will also add the following link and watch the clip if that will help you can install a S/O valve or a fitting with a cap, Thanks.

Water lines to a refrigerator always connect to the plumbing with some kind of valve. It may or may not be convenient but why not simply shut it off there.
