Why do I have yellow discharge from my areola?
Hi, I'm a 15 year old girl, and I've had a yellowish discharge from my left areola for some time now. My nipples were really itchy for a while, and then a small patch just under my nipple looked slightly red and raw. It didn't affect the skin - just the areola. I thought it was because I had scratched it but I noticed that my crop top was stained with yellowish liquid multiple times. It doesn't hurt, but itches occasionally.
I had a golden staph infection around my mouth for a while, and my doctor told me to put vaseline on it, so I left it alone and tried putting vaseline on my areola. It seems to be getting better, but last time it just got worse again.
My grandmother had breast cancer, but I don't know anyone else in my family with it. I'm too early for cancer, right?
It's been going on for a few months now, but I don't really want to tell mum. Any advise? Do I have to go to the doctors? I'm really flat chested (hence the crop top) and I'm kind of embarrassed.
Also my period hasn't started yet. Could it just be a hormonal imbalance?

You need to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. While breast cancer is rare at your age, it is still a possibility considering your family history.

Tell your mom immediately. I see no reason why you would NOT!

See a doctor asap... Can be infection or breast cancer...
