    Dependent of my father.
I am a 21 year old dependent of my father. He is filing a joint return with his wife. In 2014 I made approximately $9,000 in Gross Wages so I must file a tax return. However, the addresses on my father's tax return/W-2/other documents does not match the address that is on my W-2. Will this be a problem when either my father or myself file our tax returns? I am a full-time college student but the address on my W-2 is NOT my college address.

No it won't be a problem.

Being at school full time is an exemption of the rule that you must live at home more than half the year.

Actually, children do NOT have to live with the parents to be claimed as dependents provided the parent provides more than half of their support.

The college exemption applies to the income earned by the college student.

Age Does not matter if he makes less than his personal exemption.

If he is in college and under age 23, his parents can claim him as a dependent IF they provide more than half of his total support irrespective of how much he earned.
