    Hi JR

It sounds like the toilet SPUD has come loose. First, shut off the water supply to the toilet using a screwdriver. Next, you'll want to loosen the chrome nut at the base of the "stand pipe" and then lift the chrome nut and the chrome escutcheon (flange) up high on the stand pipe so that it exposes the brass spud assembly. Most likely the spud assembly has come out and will either need to be replaced or simply retightened.

If the spud assembly is still set well into the toilet bowl then the spud nut may only need to be retightened... try it... see how the nut tightens up. If the spud is completely dislodged, you can try loosening the spud nut and then push the spud back down into the toilet bowl and tighten the nut up... see if that works well. If that doesn't work, you'll need to bring the old spud assembly with you to a local plumbing supply wholesaler and get a new one.

Once the spud is back in place you'll reassemble everything else and you should be good to go here!

    Back to you...
