    Sewage ejector pump
When my sewage ejector pump has emptied pit, I get a sewage smell in my ensuite bathroom which is 50 feet away. The sewage pit and ensuite are on separate vents. The pit is vented with a 2 inch pipe. The pump is a 3/4 hp grinder. Could the pump discharging cause that much suction through the 4 inch drain pipe 50 feet away to empty p traps? Should I install a revent where the pump discharges in the drain pipe?

If the house is plumbed properly, sewage ejector vented with dedicated vent all the way to the roof - there should be no smell in other parts of the house while pump in action.

Do you have a floor drain in that bathroom ? Is that bathroom used on regular bases ? Do you have traps in sinks, tub and/or shower ?

    Back to you

Check your toiet after the pump emties the pit to see if there is still water down in the bowl. A partially clogged vent might allow the pump to create enough vacuum to pull the water out of the toilets intregated trap.
