Does a well pump switch go bad and cause fuses to blow

No. You have a short circuit in the line to the well, the line down the well or in the pump itself.

Turn off power and disconnect the lines to the switch. With the bare wires NOT touching, turn the power back on and see if the shorts continue. If they do, then the problem is in the power to the switch. If not, then look after the switch.
