I have a shower that has bad smelling hot water. The smell does not go away, and it is only in one of the showers, not any other place in the house. It doesn't matter if you turn on the shower head, and use the facet, same bad small. The shower is in my main bathroom, and was used every day. I have replaced the shower head, drained my hot water heater, and poured bleach down the drain. All the research I have looked at doesn't help with an issue where only 1 facet, with only hot water is smelly. Thanks for any help.

Highly unlikely to be the water supply, hot of cold. Most likely coming from drain. Close drain and fill tub. Do you smell any odor?

Open drain and let water out? Do you smell odor? If so odor is coming from drain. Would be more pronounced if water is warm or hot. Remove drain stopper and clean drain. Probably accumulated hair in trap. Try using drain snake shown below. About $3 Home Depot.

Usually the smell is from the hair and soap, take 1/2 a cup backing soda mix it with 1/2 cup of salt put it in the drain then poor 1 cup of white vinegar, leave it overnight, in the morning put some very hot water in the drain and put more hot water from the shower see if it helps, good luck.
