Surface Area of a icosahedron

Well its my first time using this and I hope I get the answer pretty quick
I'm doing a project of this and I made it out of wood... and I need to find the S A of a icosahedron... and the side length of 1 of the triangles is 4 inches...

I'm kind of lost on how to do this and help would be appriated (Sorry for spelling)

$SA = 5 \sqrt{3} a^2$

where a is the length of one of the sides.

(same as capuchin but with more tasty explanation goodness)
a regular icosahedron is made of 20 equilateral triangles.
the area of an equilateral triangle is $\frac {\sqrt 3 a^2} 4$ and since you have 20 of them the surface area of an icosahedron is $20 * \frac {\sqrt 3 a^2} 4 = 5 \sqrt 3 a^2$
