My husband is in fort dix federal prison the judge recommended for him to stay local for my medical and his medical and his mother medical but instead they sent him from Miami fla to nj ad with my medical I cant go see him and I is hard I would like to get him 500 miles or less what can I do or who can I write to please help me

There is really nothing you can do.

He can request a transfer, and include a copy of the judges order. But the BOP (Bureau of Prison) is not obligated to follow, judges orders on prisons are suggestions, not requirements.

The prisons have a classification system of inmates, by race, gang membership, age, type of crime and security level. Most housing and institutional moves are based on those and the needs of the institution.

He can expect, depending on his time in prison, to perhaps be at 2 or 3 prisons, as his security levels change and/or if there is any trouble at an institution.

At this point, he can see his security counselor, and request a transfer.
