How can I stop the repeating loud humming noise in my water pipes?

Well, you have to say a little more than that. Like when do you hear the humming, all the time , sometimes, when you use a certain faucet or flush a toilet. Also where do you hear it? All over the house, in the basement, in a bath, in the kitchen?
