Where does the water originate. Is it plumbed directly into the house or from a saddle clamp?

It comes directly from the main line in the house.

How is it connected to that main line ? There must be a valve or some kind of connection... Trace the line to its point of connection. There should be a valve. See if that valve is open and operational

There is a valve where the fridge line connects to the water source on the floor behind the fridge. From there the line goes to the bsmt to the main ine. We can't follow the line because the bsmt ceiling is drywalled, but it ends up in the mechanical room.

Close the valve behind the fridge. Disconnect the line from the valve. Slowly open the valve. See if there is water coming out from that valve...

Question: Any remodeling or repairs done in your house lately ?

We already did that. It is a new build and we just finished the bsmt ceiling.

Hopefully there isn't a hidden valve behind the drywall or that you didn't compress a plastic line. If there is water where the line comes off the house supply but no water at the fridge, you obviously have a blockage in between.

Hey KateandKen, was the water to the frig working before you finished the basement ceiling? ma0641 may be on to something with the compressed line.

We figured it out though had to cut into the new drywall. The builder put the water line on the outside wall under the insulation and poly and it froze. All fixed now. Thanks for your help.
