Can anyone please help me.

I have home network setup between my PC and my daughters upstairs by ethernet cable from her PC directly into speedtouch 530 modem which is then connected to my PC by usb cable. All working fine until other day when I had to uninstall and then reinstall the modem. Since then my daughter still has access to the internet on her PC but the shared file folders we used for swapping files etc have now gone missing from the my network places folder. Therfore we are unable to swap. If I click on view workgroup computers then both pcs are still there. Can someone tell me how to get these folders back so we can swap files again.

Also does anyone know of a good easy to use program we can use to send messgages to each other, like msn messenger only for networks.

If you double click the PC which has the share, what does it say? This error will be the clue as to why it doesn't appear in network places.

If you can still view the folders by clicking "View Workgroup Computers" then you could just map the folders to a drive letter on your computer (Right click the folder, map network drive).
