I have a 2008 Honda accord with a V6 motor. I live in Georgia


I have been using 5W 20 motor oil, Motorcraft synthetic blend. The car has nearly 80,000 miles on it


Lately I have noticed the VCM going to in and out erratically. It has also started to burn more oil


It was recommended that I try. Mobile 1, 10W 40 motor oil


I have put in the mobile 1 and the car operates much smoother,quieter with little difference in gas mileage. The VCM operates very smooth.

Am I making a mistake using this oil?

We too live in GA with an 05 CRV. I still run Castrol 5-20 and have no oil loss at 5,000.

I would use Mobil 1 5W-30, before going to 10W-40.
