Hi I am 1 day late on my period. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. I'm having period like cramping but no sign of my period other than that. My cervix still feels high and closed. Could I still be pregnant and test just picking it up?

You are only one day late. In the medical community that is not considered late even for the most regular of women.

Wait it another week, if your period doesn't come by then you can try testing again. Remember to use first morning urine when testing.

I day is WAY to soon to be testing. you aren't even technically late yet as EVERY woman out there will vary more than that from time to time. I would have been very surprised if you didn't get a negative this early.

You need to be at least 14 days late before you test. Earlier than that and you have increased odds for false negatives.

Oh, Since J_9 didn't mention it... and based on posts on this site, a lot of women don't know it matters a great deal WHEN the test is taken, first thing after you wake up the First time you pee that morning. NOT taken at any other time after that. (urine is most concentrated at that time)

OK. I will wait to test again and will def use first morning pee.
