OK. First good site. My landlord didn't read my meter one month and over estimated it by about 1000gal. I went out and read the meter showing the difference in their reading and mine. My landlord claim the meter must have ran backwards. Then claims the hot water tank was leaking that why the charge. Can a meter run backwards? And can it run 1000 gal.backwards? And no honestly have not tampered with the meter. What.

No, a meter cannot run backwards. He just did not expect you to read the meter.
