    Am I pregnant?
Last week I was supposed to get my period (its never early or late) but I got it late and it was very light and inconsistent bleeding. I got up in the middle of the night and puked. A full week has gone by but yesterday I went to the bathroom and I have a heavy bleeding. Am I pregnant and when would the best time to take a home pregnancy test?

I would say that your period is late depending on how heavy and long the bleeding is.

The best time is two weeks after your period was supposed to start using your first urination of the morning. This ensures that you have, if pregnant, an adequate amount of hormone to cause the test to come out positive if you're are indeed pregnant. Though if the bleeding that started yesterday continues I would say that was your period and you were just late. Your period is regular until it's not. It might have just been late this time around.

Even for women with the most regular periods, they are late sometimes. Stress, diet, changes in life style can all cause it. If you have heavy bleeding, then it is very doubtful you are pregnant, and this was just a off month.

You need to be at least 2 week late to test, test with first urine of the morning, as soon as you wake up

Off periods happen to women all the time. There are many reasons a period can be late, illness, medication, weight gain, weight loss, diet change, exercise, and the list goes on and on, and that's not even including the medical reasons that are possible.

Once pregnant your period stops. There are some women that experience bleeding throughout their entire pregnancy and mistake it for a period, but it's not a period.

If you're having an off period, but it is in fact a period (which sadly no one here, or even you, can diagnose), then you're not pregnant.

I'd wait and see what happens with your next period. If you miss it, or it's off, then test using first morning urine.

    Good luck.
