Hi I have a Indesit Wil123s I noticed a problem when it started stopping mid cycle, after taking the top off the machine and watching while it went through the cycle I noticed an electrical crackling noise. Looking down the left side of the drum I could see visible sparks coming from underneath the drum. I promptly turned the machine off at the wall.
So my question is is this fixable and is it something I can do myself?
Or am I just better off getting a new machine?

Sounds like loose or damage wiring and should be repairable. Whether you are capable of doing the repairs, who knows?
