Why does the mains water make a loud noise in the pipe since I had new taps ?
Since I had new taps fitted on my bathroom basin, when I turn on the cold (mains) tap there is a loud roaring noise in the pipes, which wasn't there before. My kitchen tap and bath tap do not make this noise. Why does it do it? Can I do anything to quieten it?
    Thanks.

    Hi Beth

Look under the sink and tighten and then loosen the cold water shutoff valve... could be in a half-closed position and that could cause the problem you present.

    Back to you...

Thanks Mark, Sorry for delay in responding. I have checked the valve and it was fully open.
    Back to you..

    Hi Beth

At this point my guess is that the washer to the shut off valve could be loose or damaged and is causing a rattling/chatter/"roaring" noise. You could change the shut off valve or the washer to the shutoff and see if that improves things.
