    Bleeding during sex
I had sex with my boyfriend last night and when were finished there was blood on the sheets. I thought I had started my period but I had not. There was no pain during or after sex; and no more bleeding just what was on the sheets. I haven't had a discharge or any pain when I pee. What could the problem be?

Foreplay is probably the culprit, his finger nails scratching your vaginal walls during foreplay. If it was fresh red blood, then this is what it was.

The vagina is very sensitive and easily damaged. It may not have felt rough, but it doesn't take much to cause an abrasion or a cut which bleeds.

If you're not feeling pain, and the bleeding has stopped, I'd say that you're okay. But realize that advice on the internet isn't a diagnosis. We base our answers on what you write, sight unseen. If you're concerned about this it's always best to seek medical advice. :)

I will add that just the other day I had bleeding without intercourse, and not a period. Why? We changed toilet paper brands, and that brand was too harsh. I've also had bleeding from certain soaps, pads, tampons, wiping too hard, the wrong underwear, rough sex, normal sex that lasted a long time, masturbating, and the list goes on. It's not heavy bleeding, only a spot or two, but until I figure out what the culprit is this time, it continues until that culprit is caught and evicted.

It really doesn't take much for our lady parts to get irritated and bleed.
