    Is a step child entitled to step fathers estate even though he remaried
    Hi, my mother married and later devorced a man who later remaried and now she has passed away . She had no family and my stepfathers estate is now being advertised and looking for family , as there isn't any am I entitled??

    Depends on WHERE this is. In many places even a real child isn't ENTITLED to anything if the parents decide to give everything away in their WILL to someone else.

    You, as a step-child are not an heir.

    Your mother may have had certain inheritance rights when she was married to him, but not after the divorce. The fact that she since died reduced her rights from zero to... "absolute" zero. And that (i.e.: nothing) is what portion (of your former step-father's estate) you would inherit from her.

    While I agree, I do not believe you have any rights what so ever, if he had a will, one needs to read the terms of it. I can not see any rights, there has to be some long lost 2nd or 3rd cousin somewhere,

    But if you wish, since this depends on location. You can talk to a probate attorney in that area and see if they can think of anyway
