Hi, I have recently moved into a house with my partner and we cannot figure out how to work the heating.

The control panel is a british gas model up2 and is pretty basic.

Whenever we turn the hot water on everything is fine and we get enough etc. It's the central heating that is strange, when this has been on for half an hour or so we get hot water out of taps as if the hot water has been on. Also, the radiators stay cold even with thermostatic knobs on full. All radiators have been bled and if I put my ear to the rads then I can hear the pipes and also feel the pump working.

Another strange thing is while the heatings on the pump and pipes going in and out are cold but as soon as I turn everything off the pump gets a little warm and the pipes get really hot.

I have a leak on the valve of one of our radiators if this helps anyone answer the question.
