I have a Hampton Bay outdoor ceiling fan. I am replacing the 3 speed switch. I have 4 wires colors are black,grey,brown, and purple. I need to know what colored wire goes to which number on the switch. Color to numbered port, 1,2,3,L are my choices. Can you tell me what colored wire goes where?

There is no code for pull switches. L to black and then try different combos until they speeds match the pull selector.
