I noticed a running water sound coming from my bathroom sink. Upon further inspection, I found the hot water line to be hot. The water is hot immediately upon turning the faucet on. It usually takes a minute to get hot. Is this something I need to be concerned with?

Did you ever locate the source of the running water? Is there a reculating system installed? Any more dewtails? Back to you, Tom

I have not located any leaks/running water. I don't have a reculating system. The hot water is still coming out very hot as the faucet is turned on. That never happens, usually takes at least a minute to warm up. I have found that the noise (water running) is also coming from my other bathroom sink as well and the water is instantly hot also.

Let's do some checking. Turn off every thing in your house and go out to the water meter. Is the little pointer moving at all? Let me know, Tom

I notice you say the water is "very hot". Is it noticeably hotter than it used to be?

Well, got my answer... hot water slab leak. Yippee! Yup, the meter was spinning around even with everything off. This is going to be fun! Is it best to get a plumber or leak detection company for this?

When I had the same problem I opted to repipe in CPVC. I a warmer climate you can run the main outside and jump in to feed the fixtures band in a colder climate you pipe in the attic and drop down. Good luck, Tom
