Which ballcock is yours? Have you checked the water level? Back to you, Tom

Check two things:

1.Remove lid. Check water lever. If water continiously overflows into the overflow tube, lower water level

2. Close water to the toilet. Let it stand for an hour. If water lever drops inside the tank, replace flopper
