    If there is a serious conflict of interest with this judge, you can request the judge excuse themselves. If with enough evidence of improper procedure from the judge, if they do not, it may be enough for an appeal.

    You can make the request. But unless you have conclusive proof that the judge is not being fair, it could backfire. Since you didn't give us enough info to advise on how good your grounds are, I would have to advise not to try.

    It also depends on where this is. Some states allow preemptory (i.e.: no need to give a reason or to allege bias) challenges of judges, but not all do.
