    Water retenion
I have been placed on water pills by my cardioligist. But they have not had the effect she desired. She keeps increasing them, all that is happening is excess thrist, weakness, and dizziness.
    Any suggestions?
My weight varies from day to day by 2-3 pounds.

Everyone's weight varies that much or even more over the day depending on when you weigh yourself. You eat and drink far more than that every day. THen factor how much you poop or pee and sweat (yes you ALWAYS sweat, even if you feel dry).

You really need to bring this to the attention of your doctor, or find another doctor if this one won't listen or offer you an explanation.

You may want to ask your doctor to check for other health conditions that would prevent the diuretic from working, and could even make it worse. It can also sometimes result in increased fluid retention. Another option may be necessary if you are needing to remove fluid from around your heart.
