I am replacing a gas line that runs to our house. The utility meter is 300 feet from the house, How big a line (3/4", 1", 1 1/2") do I need to use to make sure there is an proper volume. This will run a furnace for an 1800 square foot house with gas stove and dryer.

There are Gas Load Tables that will tell you exactly how big gas line you will need.

In order to figure it out, you will need to know the following :

1: BTU load for each gas fixture in your house
2. Distance between gas meter and the most distanced gas fixture in your house ( that includes throughout the house )
3. Specific Gas Gravity
4. Gas pressure delivered at how many inches of water column pressure

You compute those numbers, plug them into the Tables and it will tell you how big gas pipe you will need to have enough gas to run you gas appliances.

Usually, this is something homeowner doesn't do himself. Plumber does the calcs and has also to draw a sketch showing load for each section and branch gas pipe in your house, including showing location of all gas appliances. He then hands it over to the inspector, who checks it out and if all numbers make sense, he will approve it. He than files it with your property paperwork at the Building Department.

Based on the info you have provided in your post - and without knowing the other values you are not including - I am pretty sure you will have to install 2" gas line.
