If my mobile home was no longer roadworthy, why can't I put an ad on craigslist offering free scrap to whoever (that's bonded) that can demolish and remove said mobile home with permit?

Why bonded? Insured would be better. Just give it away and let someone else worry about getting it out. Make sure you transfer title and have them sign a hold harmless with you.
Because, if they agree to dispose of the MH and then don't, OP would have to file suit against them and, assuming OP gets a judgment, try to collect. Liability insurance wouldn't cover such expenses, hassles, and uncertainties.Quote:

I guess the issue, who told you, that you can not do this?
This is REugene, the originator of this post. @ma0641 Why I say bonded is because I want to make sure I'm covered in the long run. From my knowledge, being bonded means that they're obligated to finish the job, and if they only take the scrap and leave I can contact the surety company they pay a premium to about their subpar job. I don't have a title to the mobile home, it was an inheritance. Do I need to go to the DMV if the trailer is over fifty years old?
@Fr_Chuck The homes are owned. The person tearing it down will need to be insured but what about me? Should I be insured if someone is harmed during the demolition since it's on my property? What I was thinking was selling them the trailer for a dollar, complete with a bill of sale and have them sign a disclaimer if they choose to demolish the mobile home on site or not. I just want to get rid of the eyesore hassle free with little to no money out of my pocket. No one told me not to do it. I was advised to go on Craig's list to advertise demolishing my mobile home to any who would do it. It seems too easy and I was curious to any issues down the road.
