How to contest a civil action summons placed by my deceased brothers mortagage compan
My brother died last year (suicide) and left no will or money. He has a son in the army but I do not know his whereabouts. I was barely able to scrape money for a funeral.

His mortgage company had a civil action summons served on me today and I was shocked. I am disabled and too ill to drive or travel and I have no interests in his mortgage nor have I signed any paperwork.

How do I respond to the summons, they only gave me 20 calendar days to do so and I cannot afford an attorney. Pleae help!

Answer, that you are not part of this legal action, and will not attend. If you have any information about where the son is, provide it.

It appears, after death, loan is not being paid, and they are going to foreclose on the home. Is someone living in home? Is anyone caring for home?
