    Canon All-In-One printers
I have recently had a problem with a Canon MP700. Everything worked beautifuly except the scanning function. I reinstalled the drivers exactly how the instructions asked, reinstalled the scanner and usb composite device separately, reinstalled the software, tested the printer on a different machine and it worked fine and downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the web. Nobody on the Canon helpdesk could give me any new ideas and the only response I could get out of them was "there seems to be an underlying problem with the coputer. Please take it back to the manufacturer." It certainly wasn't a hardware issue because I not only tested different peripherals on the same usb port I tested the printer on several different usb ports to no success. I eventually reinstalled the computer from scratch and installed the printer first up which fixed the problem. Is there anybody else that has had this problem and does anybody have another solution besides a complete format?

    Hi,

Yes, I have run into that same type of problem with Lexmark all-in-one printers more times than I can to speak about. It is basically some kind of registry corruption with the printer drivers and after hours and hours of editing the registry and reloading drivers and more, I have found that now it is just easier to back up all data and then format and reload. It sounds extreme but as you did, I contacted Dell support since they stamp their name on Lexmark printers these days, and they were of no hope whatsoever! Anyway, sometimes a reload IS the best answer.
