Is it expensive and a big job to convert a cooker from propane gas to normal gas
My daughter has been offered a lovely cooker. It would need converting from Propane gas to Normal Gas. Can you please advise if this would this be possible, if it it will be expensive and will any plumber be able to do this.

    Thank you

It depends on if the parts were ever available from the manufactuer, and if they are still available.

We don't have gas in my area but I can remember converting from one type of gas to another by simply changing the orifice. Good luck, Tom

I've never actually done it... but my Jenn Air gas Cooktop (never buying one of THOSE again) came with Natual gas parts installed, and the Propane parts to convert it if desired. With the instructions.

I agree with both Smoothy and Tom it is possible you would need the proper size orifice and like Smoothy says a regulator but some have that installed it needs to change the position, 5 years ago I change my Fire magic BBQ I called the manufacture they sent me the kit and the instructions, I replaced the Orifices and changed the regulator position to Natural gas it work fine, can you tell us the brand and the model number of your cooker also I would suggest to contact the manufacture they will help, Thanks.

The orifice will need to be changed. However, most regulators today, at least with indoor appliances, are convertible but you will need the instruction manual to show how.
