95 accord wagon starts but won't stay on
I have a 95 accord wagon and I'm having trouble keeping it on. It starts fine but if I let go of the key it turns off. It worked fine, but I had some spark plug issues so I messed around with the plugs and distributor cap and now it cranks over, but will not stay on. Please help me, I need my car running again. =/

Installing a new ignition switch should solve the problem. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable, before removing the old switch.

Ok thanks a mil! Now I apologize but I am a female and am changing this myself and need as much help possible, so my second question is, do I need the entire piece that includes the part where the key goes in (which is $120.00) or do I just need the electrical part of it (which is $(45.00). Thx in advance for all your help. I have already removed the entire panel that covers the steering column. Please advise.

Do I need the entire assembly including the cylinder or just the electrical part? Just asking because both parts are available, but Unrefundable. Thx for your help.

Ok so I found the part name... do I need the entire ignition assembly? The guy at autozone said if it is throwing the key backward I need a new cylinder switch which is only sold with the entire ignition switch assembly. Is he coreect or do I just need to change the electrical piece?

Only the electrical part. It likely looks like AutoZone Part No. LS906. Check it out online. If I'm wrong, you should be able to get the lock mechanism sold separately--check around.
