Is there a way to fix the detergent dispenser on my Kenmore Quiet Guard 3 dishwasher, it will not open automatically. I have to set a timer and manually open it.

Read instructions, probably isn't suppose to open until second wash.

One time I had a dishwasher that was new and the soap dispenser would not open. The top rack was in backwards causing the problem.
