    bowl not at good level
    Good morning,
Husband replaced fill valve, due to water in bowl very low.. everything seemed fine.. but the bowl still was not at a good level... overnight went by, I went downstairs this morning water pouring from what appeared to be the toilet.. upstairs nothing dry as a bone... shut the fill pipe valve off from under the toilet, now water has stopped..? What is this... why is the water supply from the floor up dry and the floor down soaked ? Where could the water come from, or is it the ring under the toilet leaking and we just disturbed it even more by leaning and working on it..? Maybe this was the original problem with the low level in bowl ? Please answer.. I have NO toilet now.. hubby is working...

Even if the fill valve malfunctioned or the float was set too high assuming its not leaking externally... the water should have simply gone down the bowl. THis would indicate a blockage of the drain.

    Hi Jacquim

I would start by turning the water back on to the toilet and then I would wrap toilet paper around the entire shut off valve and handle to the toilet... see if it gets wetted. Here, you would be amazed at how many connections to a new fill valve are done improperly and the water will trickle down the chrome shut off unnoticed to the naked eye, but show up real quick using the toilet paper. If I am right, you should just need to make the connections tight and you should be all set!

Otherwise, pop back and let us know a little more and we'll see if we can come up with the answer needed , OK?

    Hello Jacquim,

Mark gave you excellent advice try that, looks like you have small leak from the angle valve it is easy to fix, good luck.
