Dishwasher just stopped working. Have attempted numerous 'resets' and it runs for a while, yet I still get no light nor response we pressing the start and stop finger pads.

After a 'reset' all lights light up. At this point I am unable to stop or start. I can select a wash cycle, yet I cannot start it. If I close the door it will run after a short delay

You could have something sticking, like the float level switch or something like that. Make sure to check your filter and take the spray arms off and see if they have trash in them, then check the pump clean-out.
Another problem that is very common with that dishwasher is that the control panel where the buttons are located gets dirty from moisture getting into it. To repair it you have to remove the panel and peel off the rubber front and clean both surfaces with dishwashing soap and water with an old soft toothbrush. Then wash off with water and then alcohol (95% isopropyl) and let dry in sun or a warm, dry place. Check for corroded or loose connections which also may be causing your problem. You can find these all over the machine, but more than likely around sensors and safeties, like the safety switch on the door latch, which is a microswitch. Look for corrosion near solder joints because in a moist environment the tin in the new lead-free solders corrodes more easily than the old lead-tin solders, plus manufacturers often do not heat the solder hot enough to make a lasting connection. You will have to go through it with a “fine-tooth comb” before you find the bad connection or safety.
