    14000 hcg at 5 weeks
I have had my blood drawn to test my HCG levels and it was 10,826 on Monday and just over 14, 000 today. My dr is not in the office today, but one of her nurses proceeded to call me and tell me that I am likely miscarrying. Any advice? This is our second pregnancy and it was planned and I am heartbroken. :( I should be almost 6 weeks. Does it sound like my levels aren't rising appropriately? Thank you for any advice.

HCG levels at 6 weeks are in that range, maybe a bit high. However, exact pregnancy dates are not pure science so even a couple of days off can really elevate HCG levels.

Also. Nurses are awesome, we have at least one or two that haunt this place, but take advice given over the phone with a HUGE grain of salt.

I would go in and talk to the doctor directly and get there diagnosis. It could be that you're miscarrying but it could also be that everything is fine. Do you have a history of miscarriages?

14000 falls more in line with 6 weeks gestation. The best thing you can do for peace of mind is talk to the doctor. They may want to do an ultrasound.

At 6 weeks the levels vary from 1,100 to 56,500.

I do not have a history of miscarriages. The nurse today told me my Wed. number was 14, 836. I have another test tomorrow. Between the internet and different nurses, I am so very confused! I'm going to keep my faith and pray for the best. Thank you!
