    Plumbing disaster
My husband replaced our shower valve and every time he turns on the main the new valve seems to blow up and water shoots out everywhere. He has attempted to fix it 3 times now with the same results every time. He spent so much trying to fix it and now we are broke for the week and can't do anything. We haven't been able to wash dishes, flush toilets, or shower for going on 5 days now... It's getting really bad. Please any help would be appreciated!

OK, you need to have to have him come on and tell what kind of valve he is attempting to install and what he has done and has not done.

First thing he needs to do is reread the instructions. Sounds like he is attempting to install a single lever valve with a cartridge. Needs to pay particular attention to what keeps the cartridge in place. In the case of a Moen valve that would be the little horse shoe clip. In other valves it would be a bonnet nut.

Provide brand and model number of valve..

Maybe for now he should reinstall the old valve, we know that one did fit. What was the issue with the old one BTW

We need a brand name and exactly where the valve's leaking v from. Back to you, Tom

Yep I agree with Tom, if you give us the Brand name and we will instruct you how to fix your problem, good luck.

I am sticking with reinstall now so you can have your water turned on. Then go look for the brand and the proper repair.
