Periods can sometimes be late, but since it has been more than a week, have her try a pregnancy test. She needs to follow the directions carefully if she tries one at home. Otherwise she can see her doctor for a test there.

A period a few days or even a week late can be very normal.

She needs to wait till about Sept 1 and then take a pregnancy test.
