I have a alternator and it stopped charging so I went and bought another one without checking the old one anyway long story shorti took them both to get checked cause the new didn't work either I didn't have this problem until I changed to a one belt setup on my 79 camaro prior to that it charged fine with theld set up.
What can I do tomakeit charge with out changing to a 1 wire alternator

Tremaine 1739, you need to better describe your situation. Why can't you put everything back the way it originally was?

Did you remember to plug the little plug into the side of the new alternator? When they tested your alternaotrs, did they find any problem with them? If not, and if you DID remember to plug that little plug in, it's time to track the wiring for that plug back to your ignition switch & the "ALT" light on the dashboard; if the "ALT" light is burned out, the alternator probably won't charge.
