In June I went to the doctor for pain in the armpits. Found out my lymph nodes are inflammed. Did a blood test and wbc count was 11.2. was put on antibiotics. No changes. More antibiotics little to no change. I went to the er for bleeding and they did a blood test 12.52 was the wbc count. I had a cat scan. Enlarged spleen, cyst on ovary, cyst in kidney, kidney stone (just one they say). The doctor gave me pain meds and sent me home. Should I be worried about other causes other than infection?

No.

The doctors gave you a complete work up and didn't pick up anything, you should trust in the medical professions with years of experience over random internet people. They'll forward the results to your family doctor and then he'll come up with a treatment plan.

You do have a lot of medical issues, and yes, should be concerned, especially about the cyst in your kidney and your enlarged spleen. This is why your lymph nodes were enlarged and your white blood cell count high.

What was there final diagnosis and what are they intending to do for you in the long run, aside from giving you antibiotics and pain medication ?

You need to have a follow up with your doctor.

Just pain meds.

Giving you pain meds is not diagnosing long term treatment. You need to speak to your doctor.

A nurse told you this, well nurses have certain privileges. In Ontario we have Nurse Practitioners, but I don't think that is a proper diagnosis you should listen to. PLEASE speak to your doctor.

I am a nurse. Stress does not cause an increase in WBCs. From what you described to me it sounds like it might be something along the lines of mononucleosis.

They tested for mono and negative. Pulled more blood yesterday it wbc is now 14.7. Continue to rise.
