Hurt baby toe. Not cut. Toe is swollen and red. On top of toe there is an area that is protruding slightly about half the length of toe starting at the foot. Not a lot of discomfort when sitting but rather painful when walking or flexing toes back. Do you think I need to have this looked at?

Yes. It is possible that you broke your toe. There might not be anything the doctor can do besides setting it and splinting it to your next toe.
