The compressor fan shuts off and the air inside is blowing warm air. I shut the unit off for awhile then turn it on and the fan will work for awhile and the same thing happens again. This just started today. Bad fan?

Well I changed the capacitor and the fan still shuts off after a while. Same thing.

Possible a defective fan motor. Also possible that fan motor is going into thermal over load. Possible reasons for thermal over load are bad bearings or lack of air flow. When fan won't come on spray it lightly with garden hose. If fan motor will restart, that would indicate thermal over load. Then you just have to figure out why.

Does coil need to be cleaned.
