Difficult to do, but try not to worry too much. Your baby may be smaller than average, but still falls within the norm. Ultrasound is not extremely accurate later in pregnancy, so it may be off a bit. Perhaps you are not as far along as suspected... even a week will make a difference.

Your doctor has this covered by continuing to monitor. The size at this point is not necessarily a concern as baby is not measuring unusually small. Your doctor will watch for continued growth patterns.

In cases of definite concern, the risk of needing to be born a little early can outweigh the risk of staying put.

This is something that we learned during our first pregnancy. Don't take what the doctor at the ultrasound clinic, if it is your regular OB, or the ultrasound Techs too seriously. They don't know your history or the details of the pregnancy. Leave that to your doctor.
