Neighbor has a garbage disposal that doesn't work. It hums but does not work . I checked inside and there are no obvious obstructions. I hit the reset underneath and I also used an allen wrench to free any obstructions. It appears that there is nothing jamming the unit, the blades are moving freely, but it still hums and does not work. Any ideas? Thx B.

The table or plate has separated from the motor shaft. Not repairable, at least not worth repairing.

Did you find any obstruction to remove? Did the table turn freely while the unit just hummed? Back to you, Tom
