Gmail issue: "Auto save feature" recently added by Google
I have been experiencing difficulties writing messages in my gmail. After troubleshooting with Geeksquad agents, they determined the problem was an "Auto save" feature which saves the words you type periodically so that you don't lose your message. According to them, it was added by Google and cannot be disabled. The problem is that it stops you every 3 letters as you type making it impossible to function using the gmail messaging.

This cant be the reason you are having difficulty. I have no problem ever sending g mail and do not experience this.

Is your internet connection very slow? Since auto-save would send your document-in-progress "to the cloud" to save, it would be dependent on your internet speed.

You might try a different web browser, since some are faster (Firefox, Chrome) than others (Internet Explorer).

It would be nice if you could disable this "feature". Google, are you listening?

I have been using Gmail for years and have never had a problem with it. I am going to say that I think your Geeksquad guys don't know what the problem is so they are blaming it on Gmail. Is anything else in your computer hanging up? Sounds like there is something running in the background of your computer that is hanging you up.

Ditto. Autosave has been in my gmail for years, I think, and it slows nothing down.
What do you have for a computer and OS and RAM and speed?

I found a complaint about this from over 5 years ago (so there goes your Geeksquad). The best solution I read was to use Chrome as a browser. I do, and it's so much faster than any other. If you are using Explorer - UGH, there's your problem!
