I was giving provera to stop my 7month long period.. I took the 10m. For 10 days.. I restarted my period after 5 days of ending the pill. The first two days were light but I had Major cramping. Now on day 5 of my period it is so heavy and massive blood clots and a lot of pain.. is it normal to bleed this heavy after taking it? Ive never had normal period so I'm not sure what normal is. But to give a example on how heavy this period is I woke up in the middle of the night and ran the bathroom I was completely covered in blood from the waste down it was flowing down my leg like I had a major cut or something... I have to change a super plus tampon every half hour or less.. anyone else have this problem??

Did you have any testing or an exam to see if a reason for the prolonged bleeding could be found? I know your post was from a little while ago. If you continue to have such heavy bleedung, get it checked out. It is possibly something else that can not be corrected with hormone treatment

All they did was give me a pap and said everything look fine I've had a ultrasound done and nothing showed in that either.. I knew I would restart a period after taking provera I just didn't think it was going to be this bad...

While it may be possible that this is simply how your body reacted, if you are still bleeding as profusely as when you woke up... having to change tampon every half hour, I'd give your doctor a call and let them be aware.
