Friend Limits Our Network Speed
Long story short, my classmate Jane provided free accommodation for Anne and me during this vocation. And both of us are grateful. And I sometimes even feel guilty because besides the free food, Jane’s mom cleans our room and even does our laundry. I’m not doubting her hospitality or anything, but recently I noticed the wifi speed is kind of weird and after I checked out the router’s settings (is this rude?), I found out Jane has limited the network speed of our devices. I modified my IP so as to bypass the limitation but she soon modified the settings to put another limit on my new IP address. And I noticed the speed limit Jane has put on me is different from that she put on Anne. I mean, I’m not taking this personal and I don’t want to cause any more inconvenience as we’re already causing. I know Jane plays League of Legend and choppy network speed might affect her gaming experience, so I’m kind of OK with that, since I don’t play any computer games or anything. However, when I was helping Anne to flash a ROM on her phone, I kind of bricked it, and now I have to download a new ROM to save her phone. But it will take a few days to download under such a limit, and until then, Anne’s phone will have to stay bricked. I don’t think I should tell Anne the limit thing because the different speed limits might cause confusion. And we’ve been complaining about the crappy speed but Jane doesn’t seem to be in a position to lift them. And I don’t want Anne’s phone to remain bricked for too long. What do you think I should do?
